Do not taunt Happy Crib Roll

I have a bit of a weakness for vintage toys. Just last week I found this treasure at a yard sale for one dollar. Its function is a bit of a mystery and in fact, it doesn't really look safe. I can't imagine finding something with long, hazardous cords like this in any baby department today. Which is not a bad thing.

I did a bit of looking online to see if I could find any information on this thing but wasn't successful. I even tried fastening it to Drew's crib to see how it might work. It can be tied to the crib slats so the baby can reach and roll the body of the toy and watch the balls moving inside. Along with all this jolly fun there remains that small matter of a readily accessible strangulation hazard. Reminds me of an old SNL skit, "Happy Fun Ball" about a toy with many colorful disclaimers.

What to do with Happy Crib Roll?

When I saw the title, it seemed to me that "Happy Crib Roll" sounded like something you might find on a Chinese restaurant menu. "Uh...yeah...I'd like an appetizer of Happy Crib Rolls...with a side of fried rice...and don't forget the duck sauce..."

Mmmmm...Chineeeeese fooooood....

It looks like it would totally strangle one of the kids. Eek! But oh so colorful! I love vintage things as well and sometimes wonder....what were they thinking???

PS....soon you will be buying kool aid.....soon you too will be making ugly duckling yarn....I can just tell :o) It's fun and frustrating at the same time! What more could you ask for in a hobby?

Tie that toy behind Ethan's bike for a Pied Piper effect on all the dogs in the neighborhood. Ronda

This made much more sense the second time around when I bothered to read the first paragraph. I didn't see it before. It's this vintage computer I'm using. Sakes, what DO you do with it? What a mystery!
