Look what the peddler brought

You know you're desperate when you try remedies that look like this. Actually, this stuff, called "Gripe water" was recommended to me for Drew's reflux, by my dermatologist who used it for her own son. I'll take the recommendation of a doctor who is also a mother any day, no matter how wacky. Maybe. And Google adds it's own, mostly positive, voice on the matter.

Keith ran off to a special import store, some international market or other to find this magic potion which supposedly cures all "gripes"...or at least those related to stomach trouble. It's actually a natural remedy containing fennel and ginger and some other interesting silliness. So far, it hasn't helped much but we'll see. Anyone selling snake oil around here?

Oh my word- through this whole post I was thinking, " Ooo- how can I work up a comment that has something to do with snake oil?" And then, there it was in that last line...

I thought maybe you might say something about "the peddler we met on the road today"...

Huh, you 2 must be like sisters or something :-)

and give it time. Real medicinals don't work in a moment. Our bodies are complex things. something we today forget when we pop our pills to "fix" all ailments...
