I've been wanting to try out the Child's Placket Neck Sweater from Last Minute Knitted Gifts (corrections here).
I used about one and a half skeins of Knit Picks Ambrosia (80%baby alpaca, 20% cashmere) in the color 'grass'. So soft. I aimed for the 6-12 months size. Size 7 circ. needles. Loved this pattern.
I had a bit of a button dilemma and initially just thought I would leave it button-less as I'd seen some others do. The pattern recommends using beads as buttons since there are no real buttonholes, just large enough holes in the stitch to push something small through. I stumbled upon these bunny buttons which seemed just perfect. Hopefully it will not turn out to be totally impractical with the hand washing required and the hard-to-button buttons.

Between you and my mom and all of your beautiful knitwork, I have GOT to learn how to knit. The sweater is gorgeous! I still go on and on about those cargo pants that you did to my mom.

It really is a fun pattern Cristina, and no finishing really since it is knit in the round...always a bonus for me.
Who cares if it is totlly impractical!? It's totally adforable, and the bunny buttons are awesome! You can always just leave them unbuttoned (which is probably what I would do).
Adforable, hmmm, yes. A combination of affordable and adorable? Well, a result of Jamie on my lap while I'm trying to type. I put him on the floor and then he reset the computer...Sigh
And I forgot to say that what I meant to say was Adorable, of course.
It is so cute and SO soft, you shoulda told me it was part alpaca! I love alpacas...almost as much as I love llamas. =) Are llamas soft?
