Portrait of a Stranger

Once again, my photo plans were foiled today. Drew had another seizure last night. It was a little less scary since we knew what to expect, although it lasted a little longer this time. Almost scarier than the seizure itself, is the period of disorientation that lasts for hours afterward. Drew doesn't seem to know who we are or where he is or to recognize anything as familiar.

So, after a sleep deprived night, Drew and I were back in the doctor's office today. I really like the kids' pediatrician and technically she isn't a stranger, especially lately..but it's the best I'm going to do today.

It's kind of a funny picture...she offered to hold Drew but I knew he would scream his head off so she just bent down to talk to him as he sat in his stroller.

Thanks again to all the creative, brave souls who joined in this week. It's so much more fun to do something like this with a group and I really enjoyed it.

Thanks for starting it! I had so much fun taking pictures with a purpose and looking at what other people came up with. :)

First, that picture is HILARIOUS! she looks like some evil witch about to eat a kid :-)

second, I must have missed something. Drew is having seizures? and you know what it is? What post was this in? If you don't know, I can go look. I just figured it would be faster to ask for directions :-)

Oh no, I cried reading that, I am so sorry he had another seizure. I hope you guys are all staying strong. If you need anything (someone to watch Ethan?) I'm here for you. I am always here.. which bring me to my next point... I am a hermit enough to not get a picture of a stranger because I don't EVER leave so I plan to venture out tomorrow to get my stranger photo, forgive me for the delay?

Derrick, in case you haven't looked it up yet, they're fever-induced seizures. Not exactly common, but not unusual either (in young children anyway). Liane, correct this if it's wrong!

And is it just me or does that woman look very much like Sarah Ann?

Drew: Heal!

I'm so sorry about Drew's seizure. Man. MAN! Poor guy. Poor you. Poor everyone.

Gretchen- I thought she looked like Sarah A. too!

DJ--funny, that's just what I thought about the picture. very Hansel and Gretel-ish. Yes, his seizures have been febrile, as Gretchen said...I just added the sickness label and if you click on it the next post (Feb. 5) tells the story of his first one.

Heidi...from one hermit to another--don't even worry about the picture. I really like your inside looking out one with the dog. And thanks for the offers of help.

Gretchen: I know I should know this but who is Sarah Ann?

Thank you, Liane for coming up with another fabulous and fun photo week! And may Drew (and you) recover speedily!

Think "Bob n' Sue."

Gretchen's spokesman here: Bob and Sue's Sarah Ann is the girl in question:) And that's a complement, because Sarah is beautiful!

My own spokesman: I thank you, too, for the great photo challenge! Let's do it again sometime - it was oh-so-fun!

thanks all.

Liane-still haven't gotten used to "tags" really. I'll get it one of these days though...
