Some fruit with those loops?

Not to be terribly healthier-than-thou, but this is not my first choice in breakfast foods. I am not the one who purchases the "fun" cereal in our house. I do have to admit it looks awfully appealing, almost artistic sitting in its glass container on the counter.

I had a moment of inspiration while admiring the colors tonight. They reminded me of those pastel candy necklaces kids love. I grabbed some scissors and necklace cord and the kids were thrilled to thread fruit loops. A good way to kill some time. Their teeth may be rotting but at least their fine motor skills are improving.

I have to say, we are pretty guilty when it comes to the "fun cereal" in our house. HAVE to have the massive bowl of sugar cereal at night before bed....

Love your idea. I'm sure the boys loved to clean up the mess, too!

Your post reminded me of taking our children years ago to a children's museum where they had done a nutritional analysis of fruit loops and the cardboard box they came in. The box had more nutrition! miz B

I can relate, Meredith. We used to request fruit loops on our birthday, that's how sacred and rare a treat it was.
